Volunteers Week 2019

.“Bloody brilliant platform”

A big thank you to all of the volunteers who have found volunteering opportunities through our new volunteering platform, and also our volunteers for making it work!

It has been eight months since the official launch of our platform and it is time to celebrate! Developed in partnership with Brighton and Hove City Council, it has given organisations the ability to register and recruit volunteers in Brighton, Hove, Adur and Worthing with ease and efficiency.

Since the launch we have seen…

470 Volunteers register their interest

85 New organisations sign up to recruit

182 Individual opportunities advertised

And this is what you have told us…

“Bloody brilliant platform” – Volunteer Centre user

“So pleased with the volunteers that we have received through Volunteer Plus!” – Lisa Tarrant, Fun in Action

“My first impression? I love this. Map technology that works! It really draws you in and is easy to use immediately” – Sean Depodesta, Brighton & Hove impetus

“Community Works is an absolutely fantastic platform and it has helped our Charity in so many ways” – Jasmine Hind, Ronald Macdonald House

“I’ve just submitted the information for the two roles we’re trying to fill for our charity. I must say the registration process was very simple and structured, plus your guidance document really helped so thank you very much!” – Anna Amado, Indian Futures

“Brenda subsequently helped me to understand how to put volunteer vacancies on Community Works website and I have since managed to do so on my own! We gained a couple of new local volunteers from the first ad for a community gardening project, so that was a great help.”

Why our platform works:

  • It is easy to use with clear instruction for both volunteers and organisations
  • We are more than just a virtual presence. We are here for you, online and at the end of the phone
  • The platform is supported by our highly trained team of volunteer centre volunteers who:
    • Can support you with your role development
    • Offer good practice advice
    • Help you solve any technical difficulties
  • Our local knowledge helps our matching and guidance volunteers get the best match possible for you and your volunteer
