Trustees Week

Trustees Week

This week has been Trustees Week, the annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight the opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved.

This year, as part of the work we are doing at Community Works to become a more inclusive organisation, we ran a series of workshops for trustees and senior managers. The workshops were all FREE and aimed to:

  • Provide space to reflect on board culture and barriers that prevent diversity
  • Facilitate conversation about what inclusive practice is and how to create this
  • Discuss tools and approaches to start taking action
You find more information about the sessions, and the slides on our website
We have one final workshop on Monday evening. This is aimed at those who are thinking about being a trustee, or who are relatively new in role. Using interactive techniques and lively discussion, the session will explore what it means to be a trustee and empower participants to discover what value their unique voice could bring to the community. Please do consider it for yourselves, share it with your teams and spread the word as far as you can. There is more information here
And last, but by no means least, we are relaunching our Trustee and Leadership Network bringing together trustees, management committee members and directors from the voluntary and community sector across Adur, Worthing, Brighton and Hove. The network is an opportunity to meet other trustees and committee members, and share and learn from your peers about topics related to good governance. Get in touch if you have any questions or if you would like to sign up
