Letter to voluntary and community organisations from Cllr Steph Powell

Brighton & Hove City Councillor Steph Powell, joint Chair of Tourism, Equalities, Culture and Community Committee and lead for Equalities, Libraries, Community Safety and the community and voluntary sector has written a letter to you which outlines her commitment, the administration’s current approach and how they view and work with the CVS. And in addition, as you will read Steph is looking to establish a quarterly ‘CVS surgery’.

Cllr Powell has also put a Notice of Motion to the TECC Committee submitted whilst in opposition in June 2020, which requested that a report is commissioned to explore Support for the Charity Sector and Volunteering. This is due back to Committee in November 2020.

We have also been feeding in our thoughts to that process as you would imagine and we know a number of you have too. You response to our recent survey has proved invaluable of course.
