Legal structures for not-for-profit organisations – which is the best one for you? 9 June and 22 November
This session will provide the opportunity to learn more about the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) legal structure, including the differences between a CIO and a Community Interest Company (CIC), and how to convert from a CIC to a CIO. It will also look at issues such as:
- the differences between a CIO and CIC
- pros and cons of charity registration
- how to decide which legal structure is appropriate
- CICs: pros and cons
- how to set up a CIC
- CIOs: pros and cons
- CIOs: ‘association’ and ‘foundation’ models
- how to set up a CIO and demonstrate your charitable objectives effectively
- the process for converting to a CIO from another structure e.g. CIC
We are running the same session twice. Please book onto the one that suits you best.
