Finance for Non Finance Managers, 16 September 2021

This course is aimed at those managers and trustees with oversight and responsibility for budgets who do not have a finance background.  The course will include practical tasks in small groups. Delegates are encouraged to bring copies of their budgets and Management Accounts for reference purpose.

The course will cover:

  1. Understanding the bookkeeping and Accounting Cycle
  2. Yearend Accounts and Accounting for funds
  3. Importance of communication between team members
  4. Cost and Costings
  5. Budgeting for multiple projects
  6. Cashflow forecasts
  7. Management Accounts
  8. Management information for decision making.

The course will be held via Zoom and will be facilitated by Genny Jones. Genny is a specialist trainer in accounting and has 20 years of experience in the charity sector. She qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians, gained the NVQ 3 in Training and Development, and holds the Higher National Diploma in Business and Finance.

Genny is gifted at simplifying the subject of accounts – she uses a unique style of delivery to convey accounting information in a way that makes sense to delegates. Among others, Genny has delivered training for Community Accountancy Self Help, BME Concern, Greenwich Council for Voluntary Services, Opportunities with Experience, and Canterbury University.
