Courageous Leadership in Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

This thought provoking and practical session is targeted at leaders in the community and voluntary sector who want to create a step change in the way that they and their organisations address diversity, equality and inclusion. It will cover:

  • A refresh of key equality legislation
  • Structural Racism and Unconscious Bias
  • Cultural Awareness in Community Engagement
  • Building an Inclusive Service
  • Recruitment practices
  • Leadership – being an empowering enabler and a courageous change maker

Nora Mzaoui

Nora has been involved in the community and voluntary sector for over 15 years in different capacities. Currently working for Voices in Exile as a volunteer coordinator as well as delivering Migrant Awareness training to local services such as the library and to local charities

Dr Anusree Biswas Sasidharan:

Experienced equalities and adults safeguarding professional with a background of working within the public sector, third sector and in education.  Researcher and editor, with extensive policy analysis, multi-agency working, report writing and community engagement.

A passionate advocate for social justice and an elected Black Asian and minoritised ethnic Community Works representative. Standing invitee on Brighton and Hove Council’s Policy and Resources committee. Chair of Sussex Police Stop and Search panel.
