Saturday Assistant (Hove)
Oxfam Hove is a beautiful, friendly shop with a lovely team, and we urgently need more volunteers over the age of 18 for the Saturday AM, (10am-1.15pm) or PM shift, (1.15pm-5pm), who are able to supervise younger volunteers alongside the shop manager.
We currently have several young volunteers, but in order to safeguard them, we need at least two over 18's on a shift, which at the end of July, we will not have. This will mean having to close the shop on a Saturday until we can find someone, which means our young volunteers cannot come in temporarily, and we lose a huge chunk of our income - the equivalent weekly of over 75 mosquito nets or safe water for 750 people.
However, by volunteering you can help the Oxfam Hove shop stay open, therefore enabling our young people to continue volunteering, and you will play a vital role in raising funds to save and change lives.
Short or long term volunteers welcomed. No experience is needed, just a willingness to learn and be part of a friendly, diverse team. Volunteers will receive training and be supported by the shop manager.
Benefits of the Opportunity:
1.CV skills - we can train you in all elements of running a busy, successful shop if you wish, from opening and closing, to daily accounting and merchandising.
2.Meet new people, make new friends.
3.Contribute to a great cause - and know the difference you're making with your free time is huge.
For this particular shift we do need adults over 18.
A willingness to be part of a diverse, friendly team, happy to learn and reliable.
