FUB creates and promotes free educational events using public spaces across Brighton and Hove. It is a community-owned and led, alternative education system accessible to all regardless of their financial means.
We organise local events to fund-raise for Freedom from Torture, the UK charity which provides medical treatment, psychotherapy and other support for survivors of torture. We work to promote awareness of human rights and issues related to asylum.
We repair, rebuild and refurbish power wheelchairs for the disabled. We also bespoke build and customise powerchairs for special needs.
Fresh Start offer employment, training and mentoring for unemployed young people in the BN41 and BN3 postcodes.
Lunch club for local residents from Moulsecoomb and the surrounding estates. Committed to supporting people with mobility issues to participate by providing disability access transport. Friendly volunteers,hearty lunch, pudding, teas & coffee.
Aims to provide a wide range of high quality learning opportunities for adults. It is an accessible first base for those whose educational and employment opportunities have been limited.
Provides support, advice and information, especially in matters of health, welfare, education rights, access to land, and all aspects of law and civil rights. Campaigning and research to improve Travellers position in society.
Friends First largest activity, 'Pathways to Employment', supports people to be ready for employment through volunteering with our two enterprises. Friends First also provides 1-1 support and access to affordable rental accommodation.
