Health and Well Being Network

How to communicate effectively with the NHS

Date: 20 February 2018

Time: 14:00 – 16:30

Venue: QE2 Room, Shoreham Centre, Pond Road, Shoreham by Sea

Presentation: Angela Baker, Deputy Director of Health and Wellbeing at Public Health England spoke how best to communicate with health care providers, whether on behalf of your clients, or to lobby for change.  She looked at how the NHS works, how funding decisions are made and by whom, and how to engage people so that they take notice of what you have to say.

The purpose of the network is to share learning and good practice. The network also:

  • explores opportunities, policy and partnership development on health and wellbeing issues;
  • seeks to develop a peer support space, and to provide training opportunities for bids and tenders; and
  • provides a forum to which members can invite policy makers, to create direct dialogue and a space for consultation with the voluntary and community sector in Adur and Worthing.

Course lead: Gabriella Oakley
