Help to fundraise

Help to fundraise

The Interfaith Contact Group is an unincorporated association that works on behalf of diverse faith groups in Brighton and Hove. They bring together people from various faiths and religions to increase dialogue, build peaceful relations and promote greater understanding between diverse communities.

They’re also a key member of our faith partnership which is working to connect faith organisations with the wider voluntary and community sector.

Help to fundraise

We gave the Interfaith Contact Group one-to-one support to help them to fundraise.

We helped them to first develop and then read through a final version of a funding bid they’d written. We gave them constructive comments on how they could improve their bid and increase the chance of it being successful – which it was. They won £3,000 in funding to help them to improve their profile and to be more accessible to the people and communities they wanted to engage with.

The Interfaith Contact Group have no paid staff, they’re run solely by volunteers, and they didn’t have fundraising expertise and knowledge within their organisation. Our expertise in fundraising and bid writing, meant they were able to gain the funding they needed to develop their organisation – so they can continue to run their events, interfaith annual service and interfaith choir, which brings people from diverse faith groups together and promotes understanding.

“Thanks to Community Works and their advice on our funding applications, we have received funding which has enabled us to develop a new logo, massively improve our website, and create a film that explains what we do and its impact on the city and in Sussex. These have all helped to increase awareness of our work which is helping us to engage with more people from diverse faiths.”
