Better Care: how does it affect you?

Better Care was announced by the government in 2013. It involves a single pooled budget and the aim is for the NHS and local government to work more closely together to integrate health and social care services, with the aim of improving outcomes for those receiving care.

This is a new approach to health and social care, and the voluntary and community sector are recognised as being a key part of future service delivery. This work has the potential to enable more people to be supported in a community setting and to be empowered to direct their care and support, based on their individual needs.

If you’d like to discuss how this might affect your organisation or the voluntary and community sector in general, then please contact our Project Leader, Kaye Duerdoth on kaye@bhcommunityworks.org.uk or 01273 234023
